Communications based work for Mount Royal University Facilities Management
I was part of a PR/ Information Design team.
"We went through a primary iteration of our project proposal, and upon consultation with our supervisor, Janet Hamnett, we were swayed to change our approach from a survey/interview-based data collection to an awareness campaign. An awareness campaign is used as a warm-up for entities wishing to communicate messages later on down the road. Based on our research, we discovered that Facilities Management wasn’t 'on the map enough' for the Mount Royal University student body. The goal of our campaign would be to entice students to consider their environment at the university and to create a sense of wonder or excitement about the possibilities. Possibility and hope are closely related and are powerful methods for provoking thoughtful involvement from a community."
Through a poster campaign, interviews and further research, we’ve established a few ways that MRU FM can become part of the student conversation on campus and allow them to feel like they are a part of campus and get FM on their radar
Communications Specialist for Mount Royal University Social Work Diploma
I was contracted by Mount Royal University Social Work to create an online user manual application for their practicum policies and procedures.
I went through hundreds of pages of documents and condensed and edited lengthy and wordy text so that students find the information easier to understand. I used an online software called Manula, and there I taught myself very basic coding, much of it was similar to my Joomla work.
