The idea of learning by "old-fashioned means" has become lost in today’s society.  People in the 21st century have become far too reliant on their phones, tablets, and computers to acquire knowledge. The long-forgotten book dusted with leaves is meant to show that people have moved on from traditional ways of learning. This same book, as well as hundreds of other novels, can now be stored on a device much smaller and lighter. Humankind is moving forward and forgetting the old ways of retrieving information.
